The tours of the garden are strictly limited to the period from April to October The Department of Educational Services and Enhancement presents educational projects which actively involve visitors.
INFANT SCHOOL AND PRIMARY SCHOOL
LET’S PLAY IN THE GARDEN WITH GREEN POLLICINO
The active tour includes the House of the Gardener, museum of the ancient gardening tools. Then the children cross the garden to the large greenhouse for the citrus trees. Every pupil puts a plant in a clay pot.
Duration: 1 hour and 30 minutes (from 6 to 8 years).
FAIRIES OF THE FLOWER IN THE ENCHANTED GARDEN
The emotional tour shows the garden to the children as an enchanted place where lives the Fairy of the Flowers. The walk thus becomes an opportunity to look for the poetries left by the fairy on flowers and plants in the most fascinating places.
Duration: 1 hour and 30 minutes (from 5 to 5 years).
1ST GRADE PRIMARY SCHOOL AND SECONDARY SCHOOL
PROMENADING IN THE GARDEN WITH THE NOBLE PISANI FAMILY: pleasure of vacation in the eighteenth century
The tour recalls the entertainment of the noble families during the Summer vacation, through the visit of the eighteenth century places of the garden. The pupils of the class take part in a team role game which takes inspiration from the “Trilogia della Villeggiatura”.
Duration 1 hour and 30 minutes (from 8 to 13 years).
DISCOVERING THE SECRETS OF THE GARDEN
An entertaining team treasure hunt lets the pupils discover the architecture and nature aspects of the historical garden. This play allows the children to know the most enchanting places of the garden, arouses sense of direction and powers of observation.
Duration: 2 hours (from 8 to 13 years).
THE GARDEN OF VILLA PISANI: the allegorical message of the statues and the scenography of entertainment
A team game which teaches to read the allegorical message of the statues in the garden and on the façades of the villa. Students also discover the different showy effects of the several architectures of the garden.
Duration: 2 hours (from 12 to 14 years).
THE POTTED CITRUS TREES OF VILLA PISANI: MYTH, EVENTS AND USES OF THE MOST LOVED FRUITS IN HISTORY From the myth of Hesperides to our times: a travel to discover citrus. By means of a note of direction and observation and a research game, students, in small groups, learn the history, the features and the use of these precious plants. Duration: 1 hour and 30 minutes (from 9 to 13 years).
2ND GRADE SECONDARY SCHOOL CHANGING GREEN: reading poetry walking in the garden of Villa Pisani
The approach to poetry, usually in a classroom, takes place here in an environment suitable to the background of the poetries, and allows to feel the same feeling and emotions of some great poets: Montale, Caproni, Govoni, Verlaine, Dryden. The tour involves the five senses and forecasts some stops where students, by means of notes, are asked to follow their creativity.

THE ROMANTIC GARDEN: dark and shadow in the Garden of Villa Pisani
The tour shows the change of taste about gardens occurred in the nineteenth century and of which the Garden of Villa Pisani is a clear example. Classical Italian-style garden, fully changed in the nineteenth century according to landscape fashion, is the concrete, “vegetal” example of what is that Romanticism students know only in its literary and philosophic aspects.

Lemons, oranges and tangerines displayed in our supermarkets hide an unexpected and eventful history which goes from Alexander the Great, to the Lords of the Renaissance courts, from the Greek myth to the mysterious China, to the colonialist dominations to the modern industry dynamics. The tour allows to discover, thanks to the rich collection of citrus of the garden, an original and tasty segment of the material culture of Europe, that here becomes interlaced with that of the other continents.
